Friedrich Alexander von Wenckstern

Friedrich Alexander Freiherr von Wenckstern (born December 25, 1755 in Celle ; † January 17, 1790 in Vienna ) was a German lawyer and diplomat from the Electorate of Braunschweig-Lüneburg .

Life

Friedrich Alexander von Wenckstern was the second son of the later President of the Higher Appeal Court of Celle Detlev Alexander von Wenckstern (1708–1792). Wenckstern attended the Knights' Academy of Lüneburg on May 11, 1770 and matriculated on April 24, 1773 to study law at the University of Göttingen. In the Göttingen student body he played a prominent role as a senior in the Hanoverian Landsmannschaft from Easter 1775 until he left the university at Michaelis in 1776 and as a member of the influential ZN student order from September 1773. After completing his studies, he became an auditor at the Hanover and Justice Chancellery began a journey in 1778 that also took him to Wetzlar . In 1779 he was appointed court counselor and appointed judge of the Reich Chamber Court . In 1782 he became a real judge and then a secret councilor. In 1786 he became envoy of the Electorate of Braunschweig-Lüneburg at the imperial court in Vienna , where he died. His estate is in the main state archive in Hanover .

Friedrich Alexander von Wenckstern was Illuminat in Hanover . Since 1782 he was a member of the Freemason lodge "Friedrich zum Weißen Pferde" in Hanover with the master's degree and in 1783 became a member of the Wetzlar lodge "Joseph zu den Drei Helmen" and the Scottish lodge there "Joseph zum Reichsadler".
