Friedrich August Rietz

Carl Friedrich August Rietz (born December 8, 1795 in Berge near Nauen , Province of Brandenburg , † October 18, 1869 in Stralsund , Province of Pomerania ) was a German high school teacher and author.

Life

The father was a teacher and died in 1802. From 1805 the boy attended the school of the orphanage in Halle (Saale) . In 1813 he became a volunteer soldier in the Wars of Liberation, most recently as a lieutenant in the Landwehr. From 1814 or 1815 August Rietz studied pedagogy in Halle, also in the Francke Foundations .

In 1819 he was appointed cadet governor (assistant teacher) in the cadet school in Culm , West Prussia . In 1820 he became vice principal of the high school in Demmin in Pomerania.

August Rietz had been a teacher at the traditional grammar school in Stralsund since 1821, primarily as a full professor of sixths. He taught Latin, history, religion and German, but also geography and mathematics. In 1865 he retired.

Friedrich August Rietz was married to Emma Rink. Was a son
