Friedrich Bay

Friedrich Albert Bay (born April 15, 1940 in Hürben ) is a German biologist , biology didactician and university professor .

Life

Bay graduated from high school in Giengen . He was trained as a primary school teacher at the Eßlingen Pedagogical Institute . Then he was a junior teacher in Wernau . He then completed a degree in pedagogy at the University of Tübingen , was an assistant at the Ludwigsburg University of Education and in 1969 became professor of biology and its didactics, with a focus on ecology , zoology and primary school didactics at the Schwäbisch Gmünd University of Education .

Bay was at the University of Tübingen with the dissertation Investigations on the light control of the activity period of bats: Myotis myotis Borkh. 1797 and Phyllostomus discolor A. Wagner 1843 as Dr. rer. nat. PhD . From 1977 to 2007 he was chairman of the Schwäbisch Gmünd local group of the German Nature Conservation Union (NABU). In addition, from 1980 to 1984, from 1992 to 1996 and from 2006 to 2011 he was chairman of the natural history association Schwäbisch Gmünd , and an active member of the working group for nature conservation in the Schwäbisch Gmünd area (ANO). He was also involved in the Protestant church in Waldstetten in the Ostalb district .

Bay went 2005 in retirement . He is honorary president of the unicorn tribe of the boy scouts. In 2004 he was also awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon for his services .
