Friedrich Bernhard Adam Gross

Friedrich Bernhard Adam Groß , from 1836 von Groß , (born July 4, 1783 in Stuttgart ; † September 26, 1861 ibid) was a German architect and Württemberg senior building officer as well as a consultant who u. a. Building designed in the so-called Kameralamtsstil .

Life

Friedrich Groß's parents were Johann Adam Groß III (1750-1817) and Johanna Elisabeth Groß, née Holderer, who he married on June 2, 1744 in Winnenden . His younger brother Georg Wilhelm Adam Groß (1790–1852) was temporarily active as a district building officer in Ulm .

After attending the Hohen Carlsschule , he attended the Polytechnic in Stuttgart in order to enter the civil service after studying architecture in 1808. After working in the bailiffs of Rottenburg and Black Forest with Stuttgart, he moved to the Ministry of Finance from 1818, where he later worked as a senior building officer and consultant. Friedrich Groß was the builder of Württemberg churches in the so-called camera office style, for example in Oberesslingen and Steinenbronn.

In 1827 Carl Beisbarth sen. an assistant position in his office. At the same time, Friedrich Groß ran a private construction school.

In 1836, Karl Friedrich Alexander von Württemberg awarded him the commentary cross of the Order of the Württemberg Crown , which was associated with the personnel nobility.

Friedrich Groß was born with Marie Weitbrecht. Zimmermann (1796–1877), the widow of the sculptor Conrad Weitbrecht , who died in 1836.
