Friedrich Blum

Friedrich Blum (born February 22, 1868 in Durlach , † September 9, 1936 in Baden-Baden ) was a German educator and member of the Baden state parliament .

Life

After attending primary school in Durlach and high school in Karlsruhe, Blum studied philology and history in Heidelberg , Berlin and Strasbourg from 1886 to 1891 . In 1891 he completed his studies with the state examination in Karlsruhe and a doctorate in Freiburg . Blum served from 1891 to 1892 as a one-year volunteer with the infantry regiment Margrave Ludwig Wilhelm No. 111 in Rastatt and was second lieutenant in the reserve in 1896 . From 1896 to 1900 he was a teacher at the higher middle school in Kehl, of which he was director from 1900 to 1902. From 1902 to 1918, Blum was director of the secondary school with secondary school in Mannheim. In addition, he was not only active as a first lieutenant and captain of Landwehr I since 1906 , but was also politically active. As a member of the Second Chamber of the Baden Estates Assembly , he represented the National Liberal Party from 1913 to 1918 . Since the outbreak of war, Blum was a committed member of the army, from which he was retired in 1920 with the rank of major . Before retiring in 1932, he was director of the Baden-Baden grammar school for more than 10 years.
