Friedrich Casimir von Botzheim (born October 15, 1672 in Courland ; † July 15, 1737 in Stettin ) was a Prussian major general and chief of infantry regiment No. 7 .

Life

origin

Friedrich Casimir comes from the Alsatian noble family Botzheim . He was the son of Johann Casimir von Botzheim (* July 8, 1634 in Meisenheim ; † February 10, 1705 in Courland) and his wife Katharina, born von Tyszkiewicz . His father was an Electoral Palatinate and Courland Chamberlain and Courland Court Marshal .

Military career

From 1687 Botzheim was a page with Dorothea von Brandenburg and in 1693 was employed as an ensign in the "von Sydow" battalion. During the campaign in 1693/96 he fought in Hungary in the battles of Peterwardein , Warasdin and Zenta and in the siege of Belgrade against the Turks.

In the War of the Spanish Succession he fought in Brabant in the battles of St. Lions, Ramillies , Oudenaarde , Winnendael and Hunslot. He also took part in the siege of Kaiserswerth , Roermond, Venlo , Reineberg , the siege of Bonn , Melin and Saint-Venant.

On April 13, 1709 he was already a major in the Grumbkow infantry regiment. During the Pomeranian Campaign in 1715/16 he fought off Stralsund and was wounded there. On November 14, 1715 he became lieutenant colonel and on June 16, 1721 colonel . In 1734 he received the infantry regiment "Margrave Christian Ludwig" No. 7.

He died a major general in 1737.

He was married to Maria Salome Pawel von Rammingen and had no descendants.
