Friedrich Christian von Arnold

Friedrich Christian von Arnold (born October 2, 1786 in Hagenbach, today a district of Pretzfeld ; † March 31, 1868 in Munich ) was a German lawyer, Bavarian state official and specialist author.

Life

Friedrich Christian Arnold, who was raised to the personal nobility knight of Arnold, was born in Hagenbach in Upper Franconia, now a district of Pretzfeld in the Forchheim district. From 1808 to 1812 he studied law at the Universities of Erlangen and Landshut . In 1818 he worked as a clerk at the Bayreuth District and City Court and in 1821 was promoted to council at the Ansbach District and City Court . After continuing to work as a judge of appeals in Eichstätt , he was transferred to Munich in 1841 as a judge of appeals . From 1848 to 1852, he succeeded Karl Friedrich von Roth as President of the Evangelical Lutheran Upper Consistory and was a hereditary Imperial Councilor of the Chamber of Imperial Councils. His successor was Adolf von Harleß . In 1852 he was put into temporary retirement as a Councilor of State in extraordinary service, and returned to the service in 1855 as President of the Court of Appeal for Middle Franconia . In 1859 he took his final retirement. Arnold wrote numerous legal writings.

Sons: Ferdinand (* 1824 in Ansbach, † 1901 in Munich; lawyer and botanist); Robert (* 1852 in Ansbach); Clemens (* 1854 in Munich, † 1930 ibid.).
