Friedrich Diedrich

Friedrich Diedrich (born October 5, 1935 in Hanover ; † October 7, 2015 ) was a German Roman Catholic theologian and Old Testament scholar .

Life

Friedrich Diedrich was ordained a priest on July 26, 1962 . He studied philosophy and Catholic theology in Paderborn, Innsbruck and Bonn. From 1972 assistant to Lothar Ruppert at the Ruhr-University Bochum , he was in the subject Old Testament to Dr. theol. PhD . He completed his habilitation in the same subject in 1985 and was a private lecturer at the Albert Ludwigs University of Freiburg .

Until 1985 he was a substitute professor and then a full professor for “Biblical Theology - Old Testament” at the University of Osnabrück . From May 1, 1988, he was full professor for Old Testament science at the theological faculty of the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt . Diedrich was dean of the theological faculty from 1993 to 1995 and from 1997 to 1999 . He retired on April 1, 2001.

Diedrich had been a member of the KDSt.V. since January 15, 1957 . Guestfalo-Silesia Paderborn in the CV , later also the AV Austria Innsbruck (1958), the KDStV Ripuaria Bonn (1967), the AV Silesia Bochum (1969) and the KDStV Alcimonia Eichstätt (1990) as well as the student association Assindia zu Essen. In 1969 he was a founding member of the AV Rupert Mayer at the Philosophical-Theological University of St. Georgen in Frankfurt am Main. From 1995 to 2005 he was in the CV pastoral care office and long-time President of the Academia editorial team.

He lived in Gelsenkirchen-Buer .
