Friedrich Fischer (humanist)

Friedrich Fischer (* around 1464 in Heidingsfeld ; † before September 13, 1529 in Königsberg ) was a German humanist and lawyer .

Life

It was first found in the winter semester of 1482/83 at the University of Leipzig . On April 30, 1493 he went to Würzburg where he was canon in Neumünster, from July 17, 1503 to March 14, 1514, he was cantor, and from 1496 to 1514 he was underpropst. As a trusted friend of Ulrich von Hutten , he can be found in the registers of the University of Wittenberg since 1514 , where he was registered as Canonicus Herbipolensis. In 1517 he is in Bologna , where he lived with Hutten, who saw his departure there and probably obtained his doctorate in law there. At the beginning of 1518 he is in Würzburg , where he opens a practice and in 1523 married Elisabeth Ernst from Frankfurt / Main.

Since he was subject to celibacy as a clergyman , he and his life partner were imprisoned on the pretext that he had followed Lutheran teaching. With help, he and his wife escaped from custody. After a trial, he and Johann Apel , who had stood by his side the whole time, were removed from the Würzburg monastery and its income confiscated. Via Nuremberg , he came to the court of Margrave Albrecht of Prussia in 1524 , where he gained a certain influence and reputation. However, his luck did not last long as he was struck by an illness.
