biography

Friedrich Georg Sibeth was the son of the later mayor of Güstrow, Hofrat Carl (IX.) Sibeth (1756–1823) and his wife Katharina, born. Eichmann (1768-1800). His grandfather, Carl (VII.) Sibeth (1715–1782), was mayor of Güstrow.

Sibeth attended the cathedral school in Güstrow and then the Fellenberg Institute in Hofwil in Switzerland, where other young people from Mecklenburg were also educated at this time. From 1812 he studied camera studies at the University of Göttingen , where he and his brother Carl Clamor Sibeth from Güstrow are proven to be a member of the Corps Vandalia Göttingen based on a corps inventory on a porcelain pipe head . Then he bought the Wische estate near Wismar and later Werder in Güstrow. In his last years he was a domain councilor for a chamber estate .

Sibeth, material well supplied, wrote probably more to pass the time, under the pseudonym Mi . A German literary scholar and critic writes about his book De Geschicht von de gollen Weig ... : “A strange book. In a certain way an anticipation of modern storytelling, the effortless demonstration of what storytelling means or could be called ... "Sibeth often writes as a first-person narrator about, for example, his conversations with childhood friend" Entspecter Korl Möller "and the housekeeper" Selling ( Mamsell ) Hennemann ”and expresses displeasure with Güstrower conditions, in playful indifference and in real criticism.
