Friedrich Gottlieb Crome
Friedrich Gottlieb Crome (born January 9, 1776 in Einbeck ; † January 12, 1850 in Markoldendorf ) was a German Lutheran theologian and author.
He was a son of Ludwig Gottlieb Crome . From April 24, 1795 he studied theology at the University of Helmstedt . He continued his studies from May 3, 1797 at the University of Göttingen and took his exam there in 1805. In the same year he became court master at the Knight Academy Lüneburg . Two years later he became second pastor at St. Michaelis (Lüneburg) , whereby he was also responsible for the garrison there. In 1814 he joined the Freemasons ; he was a member of the Lodge Selene to the three towers and at times their master of the chair . On December 26, 1820, he was officially the first pastor at St. Michaelis, which he had been managing director since 1816.
In 1828 he was appointed to Markoldendorf as superintendent . In this function he was responsible for the Markoldendorf inspection in the General Diocese of Hildesheim . The inspection included Oldendorf , Markoldendorf, Holtensen , Deitersen , Amelsen (Crome was also the first pastor of these five churches), Dassel , Ellensen , Hilwartshausen , Hoppensen , Mackensen and Sievershausen . He held the office until 1850.
Crome exercised a versatile literary activity. Among other things, he worked at the Brockhaus Konversationslexikon and the Darmstädter Kirchenzeitung .
From his two marriages with Friederike Ritter (1789–1814) and Sophie Maria Ebeling (1788–1860), one daughter each reached adulthood. Luise Crome (1810–1863) married Wilhelm Franz Gottlieb Francke .
