Location of Deitersen in Lower Saxony

Deitersen is a village belonging to the town of Dassel in the Northeim district in southern Lower Saxony .

history

Katharina von Bora chapel Deitersen in a half-timbered house with a bell tower and church windows

Deitersen was mentioned as Thiatberteshusen in the Corveyer traditions as early as the 9th century . The name ending -husen / -hausen , which was later shortened to -sen, is also consistent with this chronological assignment . The village was destroyed in the Thirty Years 'War and the Seven Years' War .

After these experiences, no more independent church was built. Instead, a half-timbered building was built in the 18th century that housed a school with a separate chapel room. For this reason, this is the only sacred timber-framed building in the city of Dassel. The chapel room is still in use today. The other part of the building was used as a school until 1969 and has served the village community ever since. In 2017 the chapel room, with around 80 seats, was named Katharina-von-Bora-Kapelle Deitersen .

In 1973 a cemetery chapel was built.

Deitersen was incorporated into the city of Dassel on March 1, 1974.

The village is an agricultural clustered village . To date, five farms have been farming here, with four of them being full-time. The only restaurant in town is also located in a former barn. The Bewer Bach and Bremkebach ( Bremke ) flowing on the edge along.
