Location of Relliehausen in Lower Saxony

Relliehausen is a village belonging to the town of Dassel in the Northeim district. Relliehausen is located on the Ilme between the Ellenser Forest and Solling .

history

The place was first mentioned on December 31, 1119 under the name Regildingshusen. Two mentions attributed to the year 1022 as Regilindehusen and Regelindenhuson come from documents that were forged in the 12th century. In medieval documents Relliehausen was mentioned as being in the Suilbergau . Therefore, the place was then in the immediate sphere of influence of the Counts of Dassel . In 1310 it was sold to the diocese of Hildesheim and administered from Hunnesrück . In 1523 the bishops had to hand over Relliehausen to the Guelph Principality of Calenberg according to the Quedlinburg Recess . Relliehausen was now administered from the Erichsburg . In 1643 the return to the diocese of Hildesheim was contractually agreed. The Guelphs were unimpressed. They presented the assignment from 1643 as a Hildesheim assertion and openly called Relliehausen a Vorwerk of the Erichsburg. The differences came to a head when the Guelph General Scharnhorst created a military map in which he represented Relliehausen as a Guelph exclave in the Hildesheim area around Hunnesrück and Dassel, which was itself an exclave in Guelph area. The Hildesheim bishops kept calm. A few years later, both parties were overrun and occupied by Napoleon's troops, and Relliehausen found himself on the map of the department of the Leine . In 1928 the place was incorporated into Dassel.

In addition, a branch of the company Cytiva (until 2020 GE Healthcare ) is located here.

The previously controversial Vorwerk is now a branch of the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen and is used for agricultural research and the operation of a biogas plant . On August 6, 2020, a barn and parts of the experimental facility for pigs burned down on the experimental estate.
