Friedrich Gottlieb Meier

Friedrich Gottlieb Meier (also: Friedericus Gottlieb Meier ; * 1715 in Göttingen ; † November 24, 1791 ) was a German doctor and court medic in Hanover .

Life

Friedrich Gottlieb Meier, born in Göttingen in the early days of the Electorate of Braunschweig-Lüneburg in 1715, studied medicine at the Georg-August University there , where he wrote his dissertation in 1741 on the subject of De Malo Hysterico .

Meier was - together with other personalities of the court and city society - financier for the grave monument of the doctor and poet Paul Gottlieb Werlhof on the then St. Nikolai cemetery in Hanover.

Meier owned a library with mostly medical writings, which were posthumously auctioned off in his house on Köbelingerstrasse in Hanover.
