Friedrich Gustav von Oldenburg ( Russian Фёдор Фёдорович Ольденбург ; * January 20 jul. / January 31,  1791 greg .; † after 1859) was a Russian general .

Life

origin

Friedrich Gustav came from the Livonian line of the noble family of Oldenburg . His parents were the Russian Seconde major and heir to Selting, Friedrich Ernst von Oldenburg and Maria Elisabeth Tiemann (1758–1812).

Career

Oldenburg began his career in the Imperial Russian Army in 1809 as a sapper . In the 1920s he took part in the Turkish War as commander of the 7th Pioneer Regiment and was awarded the Order of St. George, IV class, in 1828 . In 1829 he was promoted to major general and was commander of the 3rd sapper brigade in Poland during the November Uprising . From 1838 to 1843 he was in command of the 2nd Brigade and in 1843 was promoted to lieutenant general in connection with his appointment as commander of the 16th Infantry Division. In 1845 he was with the engineer corps and became the commander of Ivangorod . Since 1846 he was in command of Brest-Litovsk , which he remained until 1848. From 1848 to 1859, Oldenburg was then District General of the 10th District of the Separate Corps of the Inner Guard. In 1859 he was promoted to general of the infantry . He was a knight of the Order of St. Anna 1st Class, the Order of St. Stanislaus 1st Class and the Order of St. Vladimir III. Class.

In 1824 he married Elmire Adelheid Josepha von Riesenkampff (1794–1855) in Reval and had a daughter and a son with her:
