Friedrich Honna
Friedrich Honna (born November 9, 1885 as Friedrich Heuer in Germany ; † January 1, 1964 in Wolfsburg ) was a German singer , theater director and actor in the stage and film industry.
Life
At the theater
Nothing is currently known about Honna's origins and early years. After the First World War he can be seen on stages in the German provinces, for example at the beginning of the 1920s as an actor and singer in Katowice and towards the end of the same decade as an actor and director in Halberstadt. In 1932, Honna followed Heinz Hilpert's call to the capital and became a member of the Volksbühne Berlin ensemble . In the first season immediately before Adolf Hitler came to power, renowned colleagues such as Käthe Dorsch , Paul Dahlke , Paul Verhoeven and the young Brigitte Horney were his playing partners. Honna remained connected to the Volksbühne until all German theaters were closed in the summer of 1944, where she performed in such diverse pieces as “ Die Kreuzelschreiber ”, “ Die Pfingstorgel ”, “ Datterich ” and “ Die versunkene Glocke ”. Immediately after the end of the war, Karl Heinz committed Martin Honna to the Hebbel Theater, which he directed until his death. Honna stayed on this Berlin stage until 1951. Since then, he has no longer tied himself firmly to a theater, but instead went on tours across Germany. Most of the post-war years, Friedrich Honna resided on Berlin's Kottbuser Damm; he died on New Year's Day 1964 in the Autostadt Wolfsburg.
With the film
From his arrival in Berlin in 1932 until 1951, Friedrich Honna was a frequently cast role in both Reich and East German films. He always played simple men from the people like the elephant host in his screen debut, directed by Gustaf Gründgens , A city is upside down . In the following two decades, Honna was a caretaker in Liebelei , a taxi driver in “The police report reports…” , at the side of Heinz Rühmann a cook in The Grand Duke's Finances and a master baker in The detours of beautiful Karl , a master saddler in Der Small town poet , two batches in Zarah Leander's The Way to the Free and Back then , a lackey in Carnival of Love , a servant in Rühmann's production The Angel with the String, and at DEFA a stall owner in Our Daily Bread and Otto Lehmke in Falk Harnack's The Ax von Wandsbek , Honna's last film.
