Friedrich Jenner (born July 10, 1863 in Solingen , † March 22, 1928 in Göttingen ) was a German architect , construction clerk and senator in Göttingen.

Life

Friedrich Jenner studied civil engineering at the Technical University (Berlin-) Charlottenburg from 1881 to 1885 . At the beginning of his studies he joined the independent association Cheruscia, the later WSC-Corps Guestphalia Berlin, and in the winter semester 1883 also the Corps Saxonia-Berlin, in which he was active together with the future architects Arthur Kickton and Robert Leibnitz .

After completing his studies, he worked for many years as a site manager in public building authorities, specializing in particular in the construction of hospitals. In 1898/1899 he worked in the construction management of the Krupp coal and steel company in Essen. On December 4, 1900 he was appointed city architect for the city of Göttingen. On January 23, 1907, he was promoted to city planning officer. During his tenure, he dedicated himself to the preservation of monuments and the reorganization of the fire service . His term of office ended in 1908 when he was elected a paid senator and assumed responsibility for finance and tax matters. Friedrich-Jenner-Strasse in Göttingen was named after him.
