Friedrich Joachim von Grotenhielm
Friedrich Joachim von Grotenhielm (also Grotenhjelm ; Russian : Фридрих Евстафьевич Гротенгельм; born April 7, 1731 at Gut Sallentack ; † December 19, 1806 ibid) was a Russian major general . He came from the German-Baltic noble family Grotenhielm , his brother was the Russian Governor General of Estonia General en chef Georg Friedrich von Grotenhielm (1721–1798).
Military career
Friedrich Joachim entered the service of the Imperial Russian Army as a sub-ensign in 1748 . In 1749 he became an ensign , in 1755 a second lieutenant , in 1758 a lieutenant , in 1762 a staff captain and in 1763 a captain . From 1768 to 1774 he took part in the 5th Russo-Turkish War on various fronts . He was promoted to Prime Major in 1770 . As a lieutenant colonel , to which he was promoted in 1775, he served in Perm - Infantry - Regiment . In 1784 he was promoted to colonel and in 1789 received the rank of brigadier . In 1796 he was promoted to the rank of major general. In 1781 he was awarded the Russian Order of St. George (3rd class) for his services .
