Friedrich Karl von Specht

Friedrich Karl von Specht (born September 29, 1793 in Bühne ; † September 29, 1877 in Braunschweig ) was a German officer who fought on the side of France during the coalition wars and was most recently commander of the Duke Braunschweig Infantry Regiment .

Life

On March 1, 1805, von Specht joined the infantry regiment of Griesheim at the age of 11 as a flag boy . On May 2, 1806 he was promoted to ensign . On October 26th of that year the corps was disbanded and he was taken prisoner of war. He was then taken over on June 15, 1808 as a sub-lieutenant in the 1st Westphalian Line Regiment. In 1809 he fought in the war against Austria and the Braunschweig troops . In 1810 he was first promoted to lieutenant on June 11 and to adjutant major on November 14, before he was appointed captain on November 11, 1811. He fought in the war against Russia and Prussia from 1812 to 1814 . On February 1, he was transferred to the 5th Line Regiment and on April 4, 1814, he was captain of the 1st Braunschweiger Line Battalion. On April 8th he was sent to the Brabant avant-garde . He joined the 1st Light Battalion on January 27, 1815 and took part in the war against France . On February 3, 1816, he remained with the 2nd light battalion. He joined the Duke's Braunschweig Infantry Regiment on May 8, 1822, and on May 15, 1829 became the Braunschweig Chamberlain . From September 23, 1830 to March 19, 1831 he was entrusted with the management of the Ober-Hofmarschall-Office. From August 21, 1830, he was deployed as a major and commander of the 1st (grenadier) battalion of the infantry regiment and from September 28, 1841 regimental commander. In this position he was promoted to lieutenant colonel on September 11, 1842 , then initially appointed on September 27, 1845 provisional and on July 24, 1848 as a colonel . In 1848 he led the regiment in the first Schleswig-Holstein War and was finally released into retirement on August 27, 1849.
