Friedrich Kronenberg

Friedrich Kronenberg (born February 16, 1933 in Gelsenkirchen ) is a German economist, association official and politician ( CDU ). From 1983 to 1990 he was a member of the German Bundestag .

Life

The son of a post office clerk began studying economics and social science at the University of Münster , graduating in 1958 with an economics degree. During his student days he joined the Ring of Christian Democratic Students (RCDS). In 1960 he was awarded the dissertation topic Influencing the distribution of wealth in the Federal Republic of Germany via fiscal policies, particularly subsidies for capital formation to Dr. rer. pole. PhD .

Kronenberg held various functions in youth organizations, including in the Federation of German Catholic Youth (BDKJ), in the German Federal Youth Association (DBJR) and from 1960 to 1964 as a full-time director of the German Scouting Society St. Georg (DPSG). From 1964 he was an employee at the Federal Ministry for Family and Youth . From 1966 to 1999 he was general secretary of the Central Committee of German Catholics (ZdK), from 1982 to 2003 chairman of the commission for contemporary history and from 2001 to 2009 chairman of the Maximilian Kolbe factory in Freiburg im Breisgau . At times he was a member of the supervisory board of Winfried-Werk GmbH , based in Augsburg .

Kronenberg has been a member of the CDU since 1955. In the Bundestag elections in 1983 and 1987 , he entered the German Bundestag as a member of the CDU state list , to which he was a member until 1990. In Parliament he was a member of the Economic Committee from 1983 to 1987 and of the Economic Cooperation Committee from 1985 to 1990.
