The Way of St. James in Carinthia is a largely signposted, 216 km long section of the South Austrian Way of St. James in the Austrian Way of St. James .

The pilgrimage route , created on the basis of a thesis by Walter Radl and Josef Sattler, is largely marked with wooden signs, comprises around nine daily stages and runs in the Drautal from Lavamünd to Oberdrauburg .

The signposting of the Jakobsweg with yellow scallops in the Villach area from the Andreas and Jakob Church in Egg am Faaker See (district of Villach) to the capital parish church of Sankt Jakob in Villach , carried out in 2010/2011 in a regional cooperation between the city, municipalities, church and the surrounding area, is considered to be Pilot project for the signage of further sections of the Way of St. James in Carinthia.

In the meantime, other communities have joined this initiative, for example Rosegg , St. Jakob im Rosental , Finkenstein am Faaker See , Paternion , Weißenstein and Ferndorf .

The route from Lavamünd to Villach leads via Kühnsdorf , Sankt Margareten im Rosental and Maria Elend . The continuation towards East Tyrol touches the places Feistritz an der Drau , Spittal an der Drau , Lind im Drautal and Dellach im Drautal . Jakobskirchen along this route are in Klopein , Gallizien , Sankt Jakob im Rosental , Villach and Sankt Jakob ob Ferndorf .
