Friedrich Ludovici

Friedrich Ludovici (born March 19, 1792 in Kassel , † November 29, 1869 in Braunschweig ) was a German officer who was in command of the Duke Braunschweig Infantry Regiment from 1849 to 1855 and then major general and brigade commander .

Military career

Ludovici entered the military in Westphalia on February 17, 1806 and served as a sergeant in the Westphalian Jäger Guard from January 1, 1808. On April 25, 1809 he was appointed second lieutenant and took part in the war against Austria . On January 30, 1811 he was promoted to Premier Lieutenant and on January 23, 1812, he joined the 3rd Line Regiment. From 1812 to 1813 Ludovici took part in the war against Russia and Prussia , since January 1813 in the 4th Line Regiment. On April 20, 1814 he came to the 3rd Line Battalion in Braunschweig as a lieutenant. As a staff captain he was used in the 2nd light battalion and wounded on June 16 in the battle of Quatre-Bras . On February 3, 1816, he was put on waiting before he came to the Helmstedt Reserve Battalion on August 12. Ludovici was appointed captain on May 19, 1820 and again put on waiting money on May 8, 1822. On September 11, 1826 he was aggregated to the Guard Grenadier Battalion and on January 14, 1829 was company commander. On October 21, 1830 he became chief of the 2nd Company of III. (Body) battalion of the Duke Braunschweig Infantry Regiment. Here he was used since November 11, 1842 with the character of a major, the promotion took place on May 20, 1843, where he was also a regular staff officer. On July 17, 1846, he was given command of the Leib Battalion, and after his appointment as Lieutenant Colonel on April 23, 1849, on August 31, 1849, he became the commandant of the Duke Braunschweig Infantry Regiment. On April 25, 1852 he was appointed colonel and on February 14, 1855 major general and brigade commander. On December 12, 1861, he was retired and at the same time he was deployed to the Braunschweig garrison until October 4, 1867 . Ludovici died on November 29, 1869 in Braunschweig.
