Hermien Stellmacher (born May 7, 1959 in Leiden , Netherlands ) is a German author and illustrator .

life and work

In 1974 Hermien Stellmacher moved to Germany. After studying graphic design at the University of Applied Sciences in Würzburg with Nicolai Sarafov , she worked in an advertising agency. She then worked for two years as a designer at the toy manufacturer Sigikid . In 1989 she founded Edition Schultz & Stellmacher with her husband, Joachim Schultz . The hand-printed Leporello books with texts by Jean Paul , Heinrich Heine and Max Stirner attracted attention . Numerous Bayreuthiana by and by Oskar Panizza , Richard Wagner and others have appeared in the edition to this day . The first picture book appeared in 1995. She has been working exclusively as an author and illustrator since 1998 and has published numerous books for children and young people for ArsEdition , dtv junior , Loewe , Ravensburger and Thienemann , among others . The series around the bunny Moritz Moppelpo reached a circulation of 230,000 in 2015. She taught screen printing and etching at the technical college for design.

Under the pseudonym Fanny Wagner appeared in 2012 at Rowohlt her first woman novel titled George Clooney, Tante Renate and I . Together with the author Caroline Birk, alias Katharina Wieker, she published the novel Guaranteed changeable in 2013 , followed by the band Mostly fabulous in 2014 . In 2015, Insel Verlag published her novel Cottage mit Kater .

Hermien Stellmacher lives with her husband and occasional co-author in Franconian Switzerland , near Bayreuth .
