Friedrich Platte

Friedrich Platte (born September 14, 1917 in Langerfeld , † September 15, 2009 ) was a German politician ( SPD ). From 1980 to 1982 he was City Director of Wuppertal.

Life

Friedrich Platte was appointed on April 26, 1961 by the Mayor of Wuppertal, Dr. Heinz Frowein as Assistant sworn. He had been in the city's service since 1945. He established the focus of his work on the areas of youth and education. On February 15, 1971 he was elected the new city director. On September 14, 1977, on his 60th birthday, he was awarded the ring of honor of the city of Wuppertal . On August 11, 1978, the city director and social affairs officer was awarded the Golden Medal of Honor of the Association of the War Blind.

On August 25, 1980, the SPD proposed him to succeed Rolf Krumsiek as the new City Director. Although the FDP refused, he received the certificate of appointment on August 30, 1980. On July 15, 1982, Prime Minister Johannes Rau presented him with the First Class Cross of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany . At the age of 65 he was retired with a ceremony in the Wuppertal theater .
