Friedrich Roth (born March 2, 1847 in Munich , † October 28, 1927 in Bad Kissingen ) was a German Catholic pastor , episcopal clergyman and papal secret chamberlain ( prelate ).

Life

Roth was on 20 August 1870 in Würzburg for ordained priest and then worked as a cooperator in Rittershausen in Würzburg and Wipfeld in Schweinfurt . Then he came to the collegiate church in Aschaffenburg as a city ​​chaplain . Later he was the parish priest in Meiningen for eight years , where he had the first Catholic church built in 1881, which was replaced by a new one in 1972.

Afterwards he was the parish priest in Dettelbach for ten years , where he had the parish church of St. Augustine renovated from 1886 to 1889. Most recently he was the parish priest in Bad Kissingen from 1895 to 1926. On February 1, 1926 he gave up his office and lived for the last few months as a commorant (assistant priest) in Bad Kissingen.

In Bad Kissingen he took care of the neo-Gothic interior of the parish church, had the church built in Reiterswiesen (now part of Bad Kissingen), restored the Marienkapelle in the chapel cemetery and founded a kindergarten. In 1921 he brought the Sacred Heart Missionaries to the spa town.

The city of Dettelbach granted him honorary citizenship in 1895 and the city of Bad Kissingen in 1920 .
