Friedrich Schaettgen

Friedrich August Schaettgen (born August 12, 1846 in Haslach ; † August 10, 1911 there ) was an entrepreneur and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Schaettgen attended elementary school in Haslach and the commercial school in Kehl , where he learned the commercial business from 1861 to 1863. He was a traveler for his parents' business until 1870 and then later took on the same for his own account. Schaettgen was the owner of a table mustard and wood goods factory, a distillery of Black Forest " Kirschwasser " and finer brandies and a wholesale and en-detailed commercial goods store. In the war against France in 1870/71 he took part in the 4th Baden Infantry Regiment "Prince Wilhelm" .

From 1890 to 1903 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of the Grand Duchy of Baden 6 ( Lahr , Wolfach ) and the German Center Party . He was also a member of the Second Chamber of the Baden Estates Assembly from 1891 to 1894 .
