Friedrich Steinhauer

Friedrich Steinhauer (born June 6, 1933 in Luxembourg ; † February 12, 2019 in Berlin ), also known as the "Nightingale of Ramersdorf ", was a German actor and singer .

Life

After performing as a singer in pubs at the age of seven, Friedrich Steinhauer won a children's singing competition with the song Mariandl at the age of ten . After graduating from school, he took acting lessons in Berlin and then played at the theater on Brienner Strasse and at the Bavarian State Theater in Munich.

Steinhauer began his musical career together with the singer Georg Ringsgwandl . He stood out for his exceptionally high-pitched voice, which also gave him his nickname. He then became known primarily for supporting roles in films by the directors Rosa von Praunheim and Alexander Kluge , and as a singer in pubs, first in Munich , then in Berlin , where he had moved at Praunheim's instigation. He mainly interpreted songs by Zarah Leander .

Friedrich Steinhauer was almost blind almost 20 years before his death and had to become a nurse.
