Friedrich Thieding

Friedrich Thieding (born October 7, 1893 in Hamburg ; † May 21, 1967 ibid) was a German doctor , publicist and president of the Hartmannbund .

Friedrich Heinrich Karl Thieding was born on October 7, 1893 in Hamburg, where he attended the Thaer secondary school. He studied chemistry and medicine in Göttingen, Hamburg and Munich and obtained his doctorate in 1920. med. In 1921 he opened a medical practice in Hamburg.

From the 1920s to 1933 Thieding was active in the Hamburg Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians .

After the Second World War in 1949 he was one of the new creators of the "Hartmannbund" founded around the turn of the century, of which he was chairman from 1950 to 1959 (then honorary chairman).

In 1955 Thieding was awarded the Paracelsus Medal of the German medical profession.

In memory of Friedrich Thieding, the Hartmannbund founded the Friedrich Thieding Foundation in 1971 to promote research, teaching and adult education in all areas of health care and in particular medical professional practice.

Thieding was a member of the Hansea Landsmannschaft auf dem Wels .
