Friedrich Wagner (born August 1, 1958 in Essen , † February 22, 2002 ) was a German football player .

Career

society

From 1970 Wagner played in the youth team of FC Schalke 04 . On January 21, 1978 he was used for the first time with the professionals in the Bundesliga . Coach Uli Maslo replaced him in the 82nd minute for Manfred Ritschel in the game against FC St. Pauli .

Wagner played 28 Bundesliga games for Schalke. He moved to the 2nd Bundesliga for FC 08 Homburg for the 1979/80 season . In the following two years he played 44 games and scored eleven goals in the second division. The 1980/81 season was the last season of the double-track 2nd division. Wagner descended with the Homburgers in the third class.

National team

Wagner was a member of the youth national team of his age group.

Others

His older brother Hans-Joachim Wagner also played in the Bundesliga. Friedrich died of a heart attack at the age of 43 .
