Friedrich Wilhelm von Borcke
Friedrich Wilhelm Freiherr von Borcke (born March 20, 1693 in Gersdorf ; † August 26, 1769 in Berlin ) was a minister in Prussia and at times a privy councilor in the Landgraviate of Hesse-Kassel .
Life
Friedrich Wilhelm came from the Pomeranian noble family Borcke . his parents were Georg Heinrich von Borcke († 1720) and his wife Wilhelmine Marie, née von Meinders, daughter of the Prussian minister Franz von Meinders .
Borcke began his career in Prussian service as a war councilor at the War Commissariat of the Duchy of Magdeburg and rose to the position of chamber president in Halberstadt in 1728 . Then he became President of the War and Domain Chambers in Minden and Kleve , and in 1731 Real Secret Budget and War Council. In 1736 he acquired Hueth Castle from the Wylich and Lottum family . But in 1739 he was dismissed from Prussian service after a major scandal. He had originally had the land rentmaster Johann Wilhelm Rappard investigated because of irregularities in the hydraulic structures on the Rhine . But he was burdened so heavily that Friedrich Wilhelm I dismissed his "perjured President Borck".
Borcke went to Hessen-Kassel as a Privy Councilor . There he brokered the marriage of Wilhelmine von Hessen-Kassel to Prince Heinrich of Prussia in 1751 . Frederick II brought him back to the General Directory as Minister . With the beginning of the Seven Years' War he became head of the "Field War Directorate" in Saxony. In 1759 he was appointed head of the military department in the general directorate. In 1764 he took his leave and retired to Hueth Castle.
family
He was married twice, both times to the daughters of the Prussian Minister and later General Field Marshal Adrian Bernhard von Borcke . Individual evidence
- ↑ appointment of Clevischen chamber president, Friedrich Wilhelm von Borcke the Privy ETAS and council of 25 May 1731. In: Acta Borussica . The organization of the authorities and the general state administration of Prussia in the 18th century. Vol. 5.1. Berlin 1910, p. 266. In 1731, Borcke was by no means “secret budget minister”, as the NDB entry falsely reported. Such an office would have required his permanent presence in Berlin (instead of in the provinces).
