Friedrich Wilhelm von Bradke

Friedrich Wilhelm von Bradke (born November 29, 1752 , † March 12, 1819 in Saint Petersburg ) was a German-Baltic officer and governor.

Life

Friedrich Wilhelm von Bradke was the son of the captain in Russian service Caspar Johann von Bradke and his second wife Margaretha Elisabeth von Aderkas . The Lübeck city commander Michael Detlef von Bradke was his grandfather; this had been ennobled by the Swedish in 1718. Bradke entered the Russian military career at a young age, in line with family tradition. In the Russo-Austrian Turkish War he was a major in the Pleskau infantry regiment from 1787, later in the Lithuanian Jäger Corps. Bradke was promoted to colonel in 1797 and major general the following year . He was decommissioned from 1798 to 1800 and was reactivated as commander of the 4th Jägerregiment in 1801, only to be decommissioned until 1806. In 1806 Bradke became the commander of the militia in Vitebsk Governorate . For a time he was also in command of Polatsk . From 1808 to 1816 he was civil governor in Vyatka governorate . He then became a member of the State Council and Privy Council as a senator .

He was the owner of Verchov'e (Верховье) in Vitebsk Governorate .

Friedrich Wilhelm von Bradke married Charlotte Christine von Haack in Arensburg on December 16, 1786 . The son Georg von Bradke emerged from the marriage.
