Life

Origin and family

Friedrich von Fürstenberg was the son of Ferdinand von Fürstenberg and his wife Maria Theresia von Westphalen zu Laer and thus came from the noble von Fürstenberg family , one of the oldest and most important in Westphalia . Numerous well-known personalities from church and state have emerged from the family line. One of the most important representatives of the family was the Prince-Bishop Ferdinand von Fürstenberg . Friedrich had eight brothers and seven sisters, many of whom, however, had early infant deaths. His brother Christian Franz (1689–1755) was a member of the Reichshofrat and Erbdroste , Wilhelm Franz (1684–1707), Hugo Franz (1692–1755), Friedrich Christian (1700–1742), Franz Egon (1702–1761) and Ferdinand Anton (1683–1711) were canons in Münster and Paderborn.

Act

Friedrich studied from 1700 to 1703 in Würzburg and then in Siena . From his uncle Johann Adolf, who renounced in 1700 , he received a cathedral priest in Münster . He was a canon in the knights' monastery in Odenheim . Friedrich renounced in favor of his brother Christian Franz and traveled to Rome in November 1705 on medical advice because of his lung disease. A short time later, on January 24, 1706, Friedrich died.
