Friedrich von Schaal
Friedrich Wilhelm Schaal , from 1903 by Schaal , (born September 4, 1842 in Ludwigsburg ; † May 3, 1909 in Stuttgart ) was a German railway and hydraulic engineering engineer and a Württemberg construction clerk .
Life
Friedrich von Schaal studied civil engineering at the Stuttgart Polytechnic and became a member of the Stauffia Corps . After completing his studies, he joined the Württemberg civil service as a civil engineer and was involved in the construction of the Pforzheim – Freudenstadt and Waiblingen – Murrhardt railway lines and the tunnels near Sulzau, Sulz and Hochdorff. He was the builder of several Neckar bridges. Larger hydraulic structures and river regulations in the Kingdom of Württemberg were created by him.
In 1896 he worked as a construction councilor and supplemented the third edition of Friedrich Baumgärtner's textbook The Royal Württemberg Road Construction Police. For teaching building legislation at the Royal Building Trade School in Stuttgart . In 1898 he was assigned the position of senior building councilor at the ministerial department for road and hydraulic engineering as titular senior building officer. In 1908 he was appointed head of the ministerial department for road and hydraulic engineering in the Kingdom of Württemberg, with the title of building director.
Awards
- 1899, award of the Knight's Cross of the Order of the Württemberg Crown
- 1903, award of the Cross of Honor of the Order of the Württemberg Crown. With the award of this order the elevation to the personal nobility was connected.
- 1905, appointed honorary citizen of Neckargartach on the occasion of the inauguration of the Neckargartach Neckar Bridge
- 1907, made an honorary citizen of his native Ludwigsburg
- 1909, awarded the Prussian Order of the Red Eagle, 4th class
