Friedrich von Scotti

Friedrich Karl Hermann Eberhard von Scotti (born May 3, 1889 in Offenbach am Main , † July 16, 1969 in Karlsruhe ) was a German lieutenant general in World War II .

Life

Friedrich was a son of the Prussian Lieutenant General Emil von Scotti (1848–1929) and his wife Maria, née Scherbening (* 1859). His father was raised to the hereditary Prussian nobility on June 13, 1913.

Scotti served as an officer in the 1st Pomeranian Field Artillery Regiment No. 2 of the Prussian Army during the First World War .

As lieutenant general and commander of the 227th Infantry Division , he was awarded the German Cross in Gold on November 12, 1942, and the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross on June 8, 1943 .
