Friedrichsburg is a district of the village of Sonnental in the municipality of Hessisch Oldendorf in Lower Saxony. Friedrichsburg has 145 inhabitants on an area of ​​5.27 km².

Friedrichsburg was founded by the Hessian Landgrave Friedrich II , who in 1778 merged the former Egestorf monastery (1298–1560) and the Egestorf domain. The village is located on the south side of the Weser, embedded in the forests of the Rinteln state forest and directly borders the Hessisch Oldendorfer Wesertal Süd protected landscape area.

Friedrichsburg consists of a lower and an upper village. These are about a kilometer apart.

Friedrichsburg has its own volunteer fire brigade, there is also a village community and the Kyffhäuser Comradeship Heßlingen-Friedrichsburg.
