Frithjof Henckel

Frithjof Henckel (born March 27, 1950 in Berlin ) is a former German rower who competed for the Federal Republic of Germany.

In 1967, Frithjof Henckel was German youth champion in eighth . In 1972, with the boats of the Dortmund rowing club Hansa from 1898, he won the titles in the four without a helmsman and in the four with a helmsman , with Reinhard Wendemuth , Bernd Truschinski , Günter Petersmann and Frithjof Henckel rowing and only helmsman Günter Wohlgemuth . At the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich , the four Dortmunders achieved fifth place with Germany eighth . In 1973 Günter Petersmann, Frithjof Henckel and helmsman Michael Niebuhr rowed in two with helmsman to ninth place at the 1973 European Championships .

1974 won the German championships of the club eight from the Hansa rowing club. At the world championships , Henckel reached eleventh place with the controlled two. In 1975 Henckel won the German championships with the four without a helmsman and with the eight. At the World Championships , Henckel missed the final in the largely newly formed eighth and finished in seventh place. In 1976 Henckel won the German championship title again with the eighth. At the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal , Germany eighth crossed the finish line in fourth, two and a half seconds behind bronze.
