Fritz-Gerd Mittelstädt

Fritz-Gerd Mittelstädt (* 1948 in Bielefeld ) is a German teacher and lecturer for geography didactics at the Institute for Geography at the University of Osnabrück .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1967, Fritz-Gerd Mittelstädt studied Romance studies (French and Italian) as well as geography, philosophy and education . In 1972 he passed the 1st state examination in geography and French. Afterwards he was a trainee teacher at the study seminar in Bielefeld and at the Ratsgymnasium Bielefeld . The 2nd state examination followed in 1974. Mittelstädt was appointed professor at the grammar school in Melle and, in 1976, a teacher there. In 1978 he became a member of the State Examination Office for teaching positions at the University of Osnabrück. 1979 followed the doctorate to Dr. phil. at the University of Münster and the participation in the single-phase teacher training at the University of Osnabrück.

In 1980 Mittelstädt became senior student councilor and specialist chairman for French, and later specialist chairman for geography at the grammar school in Melle . In 1982 he took over the publication of the Meller yearbook " Der Grönegau" . In 1983 he was appointed lecturer at the University of Bremen and in 1984 as an examiner for the 1st state examination in teaching at public schools in the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen . In 1987 he was promoted to director of studies at the Meller grammar school. From 1991 he became a member of the commissions RRL and EPA geography of the Lower Saxony Ministry of Culture and was appointed to the geography planning group of the Lower Saxony state institute for teacher training, teacher training and teaching research.

In 1997, Mittelstädt became a lecturer at the University of Osnabrück and in 2002 he was acting expert advisor for geography for the Weser-Ems district government . In 2005 he was appointed honorary professor for geography didactics at the University of Osnabrück. After retiring and ending his position as deputy head of the Institute for Geography in September 2014, he continued his teaching activities as a lecturer at the IfG in October of the same year.
