Fritz Adolf Hans Freiherr Marschall von Bieberstein (born April 11, 1883 in Karlsruhe , † October 17, 1939 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) was a German teacher of constitutional law .

Life

Fritz Marschall von Bieberstein was the son of the Grand Ducal Baden Foreign Minister Adolf Marschall von Bieberstein , who was a son of the Baden Interior Minister of the same name, Adolf Marschall von Bieberstein .

After studying law , economics and philosophy at the universities of Geneva , Berlin , Munich and Heidelberg , Marschall von Bieberstein passed the first state examination in 1905 and the second in 1910. He received his doctorate from the University of Heidelberg under Gerhard Anschütz , who also supervised his habilitation in Berlin in 1912. In 1913 he was appointed associate professor at the University of Halle and in 1915 at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen as the successor to Rudolf Smend . After military service and imprisonment, he resumed teaching in 1919 and moved to the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg im Breisgau in 1920 . In 1934 he became a member of the National Socialist Lawyers' Association . In 1939 he received a full professorship in Freiburg im Breisgau.

He had married Nora Kübler in Freiburg in 1927, the daughter of the imperial regimental councilor and chief medical officer Paul Kübler and Dorette Elmira, born in 1894. Malcolm from Scottish Gentry , a granddaughter of the Scottish Vice Admiral Charles Malcolm and great niece of the British Ambassador Sir John Malcolm . This marriage came from the law professor Wolfgang Freiherr Marschall von Bieberstein , the father of the journalist Christoph von Marschall .
