Fritz Grieb

Fritz Grieb (born January 9, 1929 in Vienna ; † June 22, 2007 in Pöchlarn ) was an Austrian actor .

Life

Grieb attended the Stubenbastei grammar school in Vienna with Otto Schenk and Helmut Qualtinger . However, he did not graduate from high school , but decided to train as an actor at the Max Reinhardt Seminar and at the Vienna Conservatory while still at school .

At the beginning of his career there were roles in cellar theaters as well as at Scala Vienna and the Bürgerertheater . In 1955 he went to the Vorarlberger Landesbühne Bregenz , in 1961 in Ingolstadt and 1962 in Germany at the Hamburger Kammerspiele and the Cologne city theaters. In 1967 he finally reached the Vienna Burgtheater , where he played over 300 roles, including leading roles in Candide , Komödie der Irrungen , Die Möwe and Das Mädel aus der Vorstadt .

In film and television, Grieb was z. B. seen in Tatort - and in Kaisermühlen Blues episodes. In addition to radio plays, he also lent Captain Iglo his voice in an Iglo commercial.

Grieb died after a long and serious illness, leaving behind his wife and three sons.
