Fritz Hösli

Fritz Hösli (born August 31, 1922 in Glarus ; † April 10, 2002 there ) was a Swiss politician . He was a member of the Democratic and Labor Party and from 1971 of the SVP .

Fritz Hösli lived in Diesbach in the canton of Glarus and was entitled to live there . He was vice director of the Hefti and Co. cloth factory in Hätzingen .

Hösli was a councilor in Diesbach from 1948 to 1990 . From 1964 to 1971 he was a member of the district administrator . 1971-1988 he was Councilor of the Canton of Glarus. Until 1974 he headed the police department and then the medical and welfare department. 1986-88 he was state governor.

Parallel to his work at the cantonal level, he was also active nationally: from 1978 to 1991 he was a member of the National Council . His focus was on social and health policy.
