Fritz Lang (born February 26, 1902 in Zurich ; † June 5, 1976 in Lucerne , legal resident in Lucerne) was a Swiss trauma doctor.

Life

Fritz Lang was born on February 26, 1902 in Zurich as the son of the lithographer Kaspar Friedrich Lang and Emma, ​​nee Mittersteiner. After attending grammar school in Zurich, he studied medicine at the University of Zurich until 1926 , which he completed there in 1927 with the academic degree of Dr. med. completed.

As a result, between 1927 and 1932 he worked as a doctor in various clinics in Germany and abroad. From 1932 Fritz Lang initially worked as a doctor in the central administration of the Swiss Accident Insurance Fund (Suva) in Lucerne, from 1936 as a deputy of the Suva senior physician, from 1951 as Suva senior physician and most recently from 1954 to 1970 as director of Suva.

In addition , he completed his habilitation in 1941 and worked between 1941 and 1948 as a private lecturer in accident medicine and between 1948 and 1951 as an associate professor at the University of Basel . Lang then taught from 1951 to 1970 as an associate professor and since 1970 as a full professor at the University of Zurich. He also served in the Swiss Army with the rank of lieutenant colonel .

He was married to Ruth Nora nee Fäsi. Fritz Lang died on June 5, 1976 at the age of 74 in Lucerne.
