Fritz Lometsch

Fritz Lometsch (born October 21, 1900 in Kassel ; † February 12, 1992 ibid) was a German book artist, type artist , wood cutter , graphic artist , illustrator , bookseller and art dealer .

Life

Fritz Lometsch grew up in Kassel- Wilhelmshöhe . Prime-book Lometsch was and art dealer's own "gallery Lometsch" in Kassel, close to the royal square in Cologne street. In 1921 he attended the writing class at the Leipzig Art Academy . Inspired by the handwriting of his teacher Rudolf Koch , he dedicated his artistic work to medieval manuscripts. He designed book covers and publisher's signets a. a. for the Berliner Furche-Verlag and the Christian Kaiser Verlag . The artist Fritz Lometsch created commercial graphics, watercolor and oil paintings. Lometsch was Ernst Röttger's brother-in-law .

Fritz Lometsch was friends with the writer couple Christine Brückner and Otto Heinrich Kühner , who lived in Kassel .
