Life

Fritz Mouson was the son of the industrialist Jacques Mouson (1842–1915) and his wife Eleonore Dorothea, b. Hock (1848–1911) and the great-grandson of August Friedrich Mouson . With this knowledge, he was able to convert the company into a largely automated industrial company that had been converted to assembly line production.

Mousonturm

Mousonturm

The Mousonturm, designed by Robert Wollmann and built between 1925 and 1926, was to become the landmark and highlight of the new company premises. Fritz Mouson is said to have had a significant influence on the design. The Mousonturm, designed in the expressionist style, is around 34 meters high and has up to ten storeys (including the basement ) and is the first high-rise in Frankfurt.

The Mousonturm survived the Second World War almost unscathed and has been a listed building since 1976. It has been known as "Künstlerhaus Mousonturm" since 1988 and is used as a play and production facility for national and international freelance artists from the fields of dance, theater, performance, music, cabaret, literature and the visual arts.
