Fritz Noll
Fritz Noll (born August 27, 1858 in Frankfurt am Main ; † June 20, 1908 in Halle ) was a German botanist and professor at the University of Bonn.
Live and act
Noll studied a. a. with Julius Sachs (1832–1897), who is considered the founder of experimental plant physiology .
Noll's main field of work was the physiology of plants.
Besides his work as a university teacher Noll was in 1894 together with his Bonn colleague Eduard Strasburger , Heinrich Schenck and Andreas Franz Wilhelm Schimper co-founder of the university textbook " Strasburger ". He worked for many years on this standard work for university students of botany . So he drew in the 1st – 9th Edition (1894–1908) responsible for the “Physiology” section.
In 1907 he was elected a member of the Leopoldina .
