Fritz Racher

Fritz Racher (born August 20, 1925 in Ried im Innkreis ; † May 30, 2012 in Ried im Innkreis) was an Austrian political scientist and economist .

As a businessman, he managed his parents' hardware and sporting goods retail company in Ried im Innkreis and for decades acted as President of Rieder Messe and as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Volksbank Ried im Innkreis . At the state and district level, he held various positions in the Upper Austria Chamber of Commerce.

Live and act

Fritz Racher, married to Edith Maurus, took over his parents' business in Ried and developed it into a supraregional specialist shop.

The at the University of Innsbruck doctorate State scientist and economist Kommerzialrat Fritz Racher began his career at the Rieder Messe 1955 in a committee and worked from 1967 to 1997 as its president.

In 1954 he was elected to the Supervisory Board of Volksbank, to which he belonged for 50 years. The general assembly elected him chairman of the supervisory board in 1961, after he had already been deputy chairman from 1959. After 39 years, he resigned this position in 2000, but remained on the board. In 2004 he was awarded the Schulze-Delitzsch gold medal for his 50 years of work in the commercial cooperative .

In his 30-year activity at the Chamber of Commerce, he was a member of the state committee of the iron trade beginning in 1955 and held the position of deputy head there from 1967. In the year after 1970 in the district committee of the Chamber of Commerce, he not only represented the interests of the iron trade, but also of the entire Ried trade. He ended his engagement in the mid-1980s and was awarded the professional title of Commercial Councilor by Chamber of Commerce President Rudolf Trauner senior .
