The documentary by Elke Baur describes the life of Fritz Levy , Jever's only Jew who returned to his hometown after the Holocaust . The director combined historical archive material with documentary images and scenic elements to pay homage to Levy. The interviews with Levy's contemporaries are linked by an off- narrator. The result is also a portrait of society.
Film exploitation
Produced in 1994, Fritz Lives - Secret Criminal and Viehlosoph was initially shown in selected German cinemas. Since then, the film has been broadcast several times on German television. In 2010 the documentary was released on DVD by the Filmsortiment.de publishing house .
Awards
