Peter Faecke
Peter Faecke (born November 3, 1940 in Grunwald , Glatz district , Lower Silesia province ; † March 23, 2014 in Cologne ) was a German writer and publisher .
Life
Peter Faecke grew up in Hannoversch Münden . From 1961 he studied Romance languages , German and philosophy in Göttingen , Berlin and Hamburg and from 1963 in Paris . From 1965 to 1990 he was editor of the culture and science department at Westdeutscher Rundfunk in Cologne, where he was primarily responsible for topics from the Third World . Peter Faecke stayed abroad several times for longer periods; he was a visiting professor at the University of Texas and directed a media project in Peru . Faecke lived in Cologne, where he also ran his own publishing house, Edition Köln , until 2010 .
Faecke was the author of novels , short stories , reports and radio plays . His first two novels are thematically set in the Third Reich ; the novel cycle The Kowalski project is the broad-based chronicle of a German family in the twentieth century.
Peter Faecke was a member of the Association of German Writers and the PEN Center Germany . He received u. a. The following awards: 1966 the promotion price of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia for literature , 1978 a scholarship from the Villa Massimo and 1991 and 1994 scholarships from the German Literature Fund .
