The Fritzen , Fretza in Montafon , is a stream in the municipality of Bartholomäberg .

Brook

The Fritzenbach rises in the Worms area , a former mining area in Bartholomäberg at around 1400 m above sea level. It flows in a straight line down the valley, where it forms the Fritzentobel . In the valley floor, the Fritzen flows through the Gantschier district . Then he passes the Hosensee ( Red Stone Baggersee ), which was created after the district for lowering the groundwater level and is now a fishing area and bathing water. It then flows along the Roter Stein settlement and flows into the Ill in the Auserböden district .

Fritzentobel

Continuous mudslides made settlement of the Gantschier district impossible for centuries. Houses before 1945 are at the beginning of the mountain, and not in the valley floor. The first torrent control was created in the Second World War with French prisoners of war and forced laborers from the Rodund camp , especially as constant openness of the access to the Montafon was important and urgent for the construction of the Illwerke .

The retaining walls in the ravine were added later and the collecting basin in the valley floor was improved. With an invisible overflow channel over Kirchstrasse, the Fritzen was also connected directly to the Ill, which gives the Gantschier district additional flood protection.
