history

FDF was founded on October 27, 1902 in Frederiksberg by Holger Tornøe and Ludvig Valentiner , making it Denmark's oldest uniformed children and youth association. At first, FDF was a pure boys' association as the "Frivilligt Drenge Forbund". On June 5, 1952, the girls' association FPF, the "Frivilligt Pige Forbund", was founded as a counterpart to FDF by Signe Larsen and Willy Gravesen . In 1974 both associations merged to form the FDF / FPF. In 1994 the name was simplified to today's form FDF.

International partnerships

FDF is a member of fimcap and the European Fellowship. Sister organizations in the German-speaking area are the Catholic Young Community (KjG) in Germany, Jungwacht Blauring (Jubla) in Switzerland and the Catholic Young Group of Austria (KJSÖ) .
