The Fruschnitzbach is a brook in the municipality of Kals am Großglockner ( Lienz district ). The brook rises below the Fruschnitzkees and flows south of the Kalser Tauernhaus into the Kalserbach . Its name is derived from the Slavic brusnica ( whetstone ).

course

The Fruschnitzbach feeds itself from the melt water of the Fruschnitzkees and rises between the Spitz in the north, the Upper Fruschnitzscharte in the east and the Gelben Wandl in the south. It flows in a westerly direction, reaches the tree line at around 1850 meters and flows south of the Kalser Tauernhaus on the left into the upper reaches of the Kalserbach, known here as the Seebach. Neighboring streams are the Laperwitzbach in the north and the Rumesoibach in the south.
